Happy 25th Birthday to Megan!!

Sunday, January 9th was Megan's 25th birthday. We gathered with those who were still here to celebrate. Tim was in Shaker Heights, Ohio, with Lisa and the children after successfully completing an 1800 mile journey driving back home. Matt stayed here to finish his rotation and to say goodbye to his parents who just received their visa for their mission in Brazil. Lisa, Tim and the kids called and sang to Megan over the phone. Becca made a darling cake and we enjoyed having Taylor, Megan and Pirate home with us.

This year we are changing our tradition of telling each other what we value and love about them on their birthday and instead, posting it as a comment on the blog. So...here you go family! Let's start the New Year out by telling Megan why we love her:

  1. Megan, as I watched you in an "advisor" role for the girls from Brighton High School at the cheer competition, I reflected on all of the training and experiences you have had up to this point in your life that are helping you in a leadership role. I am so proud of you and all you are accomplishing at the moment. But most of all, I am just grateful for a loving relationship with you and for all that you have taught in the past few years. I think I have learned things from you that I have needed to learn for a long time. I love how you interact with your little nieces and nephews who all adore you. I love that you worry about Pirate and if he is lonely while you are away from him. You are so tenderhearted and always have been. I admire your steadfastness in staying in school and preparing to be a teacher. I appreciate how you step in to willingly "help" whenever you are needed. I love having you around and have missed you more than I can say. I hope you have had a happy birthday and mostly, that you can feel even a portion of the love I have for you. You are a cherished daughter and always will be. I love you!

  2. Megan,

    Happy birthday, you are fabulous.
You have accomplished so much and we are gearing up to celebrate your up-coming graduation! You are so talented and you have a gift for teaching. With your crazy work and teaching schedule is there any chance you want to teach all your little nieces and nephews as well? You would have an eager audience with our Wiley and Rosa.
Ben and I could use a little help in the social dance area as well. he he

Anywho, we love you, and so do the kiddos. Although, Pirate might be tipping the scales a little more towards him. . . such a cutie.

Best of luck at Nationals, keep us up to date.

    love,
    Shara and Ben

  3. Hey Meg,
I am sorry that I wasn't around for the big gala celebration of the "quarter century" mark. You are gaining on me. When you were born I was 32 times your age. Now all these years later I am just a little over twice your age.......go figure! That must mean one of us is getting younger, right?

I have greatly admired your determination to complete your education, even if it meant some significant sacrifices in living away from Taylor in Cedar City. You have a tremendous ability to relate to people and I am confident that the girls at Brighton H.S. and in your student teaching work at Timberline will absolutely adore you. Hope you had a great birthday. Love you much.

  5. Hey Megs, happy birthday last Sunday and glad that we could all get together and hang out, eat cake and celebrate your birthday. I can't believe that you are 25! This summer it will be a decade ago that I left for my mission and I remember you and Aaron being kids and now you are both married, it is really weird to think.

Anyways, I love you for many reasons but really appreciate your kind heart. I know sometimes we don't see each other as often as we should, but when we do I can tell that you care about me it really does mean alot. Anywho, love ya

  7. Megan,

Darn.. I am sorry it took me so long to post. I hope you read this. There are so many reasons that I love you. There is just nothing like the love between sisters... and I can't tell you how much it means to me to have my sister love and be such a good friend to my own daughter. I hope I can be that to your daughter someday. You are patient and loving and adoring and funny and willing with Annie, like no one else is. You have her heart, and I love and appreciate that so much.

I also just think you are a really cool, smart, and talented person. I am so impressed with how you cook for Taylor (it took me years to learn how, and you are a pro!), and take care of those around you. I love you, little Sis. Please come visit us soon. XOXO Lisa

  8. Hey, Michele I finally found your blog. It looks like you had a great birthday for Megan. Happy Birthday MEGAN

When we visited Jessica this month we had so much fun going through old family videos. We had so many of you and Jessica. Talk about cute little girls. Jessica's little Alessandra reminds me so much of you because of her big brown eyes.

I hope you had a great birthday
